The City of Bozeman Stormwater Division is
seeking artists to create storm drain murals.
Artists will create temporary stormwater
themed murals on the storm drain inlets and
adjacent areas during Music on Main on
August 13th. The purpose of the murals is to
raise awareness about stormwater management
in Bozeman. The City will be accepting
applications until July 24th. Once compiled,
staff will review and select qualified artists.
Selected artists will be notified no later than
July 31st, 2015.
Honorarium
Artist will be volunteering their time to create these murals. A display table will be provided for
advertisement and artist promotion.
Artist Eligibility
This opportunity is open to artist of all skill level and ages. Those under 18 must have an adult
advisor. Groups are encouraged to apply.
Mural Themes
The mural themes must illustrate principals of stormwater management and be family friendly.
We encourage works that are vibrant and reflective of the Bozeman community and
surroundings.
Artwork Materials
The City will provide liquid chalk and other supplies as needed.
Artist Responsibilities
Artists must:
Read a brief stormwater introduction and educational pamphlet provided
Sign an artwork release form
Be available to complete the mural by 8:30 pm during Music on Main on August 13th
(additional time before Music on Main is allowed and will be coordinated as needed).
City’s Responsibilities
The City will:
Provide materials to create murals
Provide a safe and clean area for the artist to work
Provide a display table near the work station for artists

Storm Drain Locations and Dimensions
Location: Intersections of Black and Main and Bozeman and Main
Dimensions: Grates are 21” x 33”
Murals dimensions cannot exceed 7’x 6’
