HomeMy WebLinkAboutProperty Sale; 5600 Love Lane CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA CALL FOR BIDS SALE OF PROPERTY AT 5600 LOVE LANE Sealed bids will be received by the Clerk of the Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at her office in the Municipal Building, 411 East Main Street, Bozeman, Montana, until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2004, at which time the bids will be publicly opened at the City Hall before the Clerk of the City Commission for sale of the City-owned property at 5600 Love Lane. The subject property contains 20.00 acres, and includes all structures and fixtures now found on the property. It is located along the east side of Love Lane, approximately 550 feet north of Huffine Lane. Sealed bids must be for at least the appraised value of the property; bids lower than the appraisal will not be accepted. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 10 percent of the bid. The bond must be in one of the following forms: (1) lawful money of the United States; (2) cashier's check, certified check, bank money order, or bank draft, drawn and issued by a National Banking Association located in the State of Montana; or by any banking corporation incorporated under the laws of the State of Montana; or (3) a bid bond or bond executed by a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of Montana, and made payable to the City of Bozeman, Montana, in the amount often percent (10%) of the bid. Such check shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will execute the agreement included in these documents after notification of the award to the bidder, and if the bidder fails to do so, the security so deposited shall be forfeited as provided in the Montana Code Annotated, Section 18-1-201, et seq. STORY MANSION AND CARRIAGE HOUSE CITY OF BOZEMAN BOZEMAN, MONTANA Receipt of Bid Proposals Sealed bids will be received by the Clerk of the City Commission, City of Bozeman, Bozeman, Montana in her office until 2:00 p.m. (local time), on Friday, May 6, 2005, at which time the proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Commission Room, basement of the Municipal Building, 411 East Main Street, Bozeman, MT 59715. Proposals will be received for Exterior Stabilization of the Historic I.B. Story Mansion for the City of Bozeman, in accordance with the Specifications and other Contract Documents prepared by Comma-Q Architecture, Inc., 109 North Rouse Avenue, #1, Bozeman, MT 59715. Proposals will be received for one General Contract, which shall include all work described in the Construction Documents. A pre-bid walkthrough of the project will be held at 1 :30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at the I.B. Story Mansion, 811 South Willson Avenue, Bozeman, Montana. All General Contractors and their sub-contractors are strongly encouraged to attend. Bidders shall furnish references and information on past projects that are similar to the Exterior Stabilization of the Historic T.B. Story Mansion. References and past project information will serve as part of the evaluation criteria and must be submitted in accordance with the "INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS". Scoring will be weighted in favor of the bidder whose project references include construction experience similar to the Exterior Stabilization of the Historic T.B. Story Mansion. Proposals will be scored and ranked in accordance with criteria listed in the "INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS". Contract amount will not be the sole criteria for selection. Proposals shall be submitted on the "BID PROPOSAL FORM" provided with the Contract Documents. Obtaining Contract Documents Bidding documents are on file at Montana plans exchanges as listed in the "INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS" or may be obtained at the office of the Architect: Comma-Q Architecture, Inc., 109 North Rouse Avenue #1, Bozeman, Montana 59715, (406) 585-1112, upon deposit of $50.00 per set. Parties requesting documents to be mailed must enclose an additional separate payment in the amount of $30.00 per set payable to Comma-Q Architecture, Inc. to cover postage and handling. Postage and handling is non-refundable. Documents remain the property of the Architect and must be returned prepaid. Full refund of deposit will be made for complete sets that are returned in acceptable condition: without notes, marks, or mutilations, and within 15 calendar days after the opening of proposals. Planholders that do not submit a proposal will forfeit their deposit. Proposal Guarantee Bids shall be accompanied by an acceptable form of Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the total Bid. Acceptable forms of Bid Security are as follows: Certified Check, Cashier's Check, Bank Draft, Lawful US Currency, Bank Money Order or Bid Bond made payable to The City of Bozeman, as a guarantee that if the Proposal is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Contract and fill acceptable Performance and Labor & Material Payment Bonds no later than ten (10) days after the Award of the Contract. Montana State Requirements Each prime Bidder or Subcontractor will be required to have a valid Montana Public Contractor's License in the proper classification. The Contractor shall comply with all fair labor practices and must meet the requirements of the State Statutes. Owner Rights Reserved The City of Bozeman hereinafter called the Owner, reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals and to waive any formality or technicality in any Proposal in the interest of the Owner.
