HomeMy WebLinkAboutNSURB Improvements Phase 1-sIdewalk infillSection 00100 INVITATION TO BID Page 1 of 2 CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA INVITATION TO BID Separate sealed bids for construction of North 7th Avenue Urban Renewal District Improvements, Phase I – Sidewalk Infill will be received by the City of Bozeman City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 121 North Rouse, Suite No. 102 until 2 p.m. local time on June 22, 2010, and then publicly opened and read aloud. Sealed bids so entitled should be addressed to the City Clerk. The physical address is: City Clerk’s Office, Suite 102, City Hall, 121 N. Rouse Avenue, Bozeman, Montana. The mailing address is: City Clerk’s Office, Suite 102, P.O. Box 1230, Bozeman, Montana 59771. The project consists of: The construction of approximately 810 LF of 6’ wide sidewalks on North 7th Avenue from Durston Road to Oak Street, approximately 515 LF of 6’ wide sidewalks on the east side of North 7th Avenue in three separate locations (near Big O Tire, Vans, and Speedy Glass), and approximately 295 LF of 6’ wide sidewalks on the west side of North 7th Avenue near the northwest corner of its intersection with Oak Street all located in Bozeman, Montana and other improvements related to the installation of said sidewalks. Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS consisting of Drawings and Project Specifications may be examined or obtained at the office of: City Engineer’s Office Alfred Stiff Professional Building P.O. Box 1230 20 E Olive St Bozeman, Montana, 59771 406.582.2280 In accordance with Article 2.01 of Instructions to Bidders, required payment will be $20 per set, which is not refundable. There will be a Pre-Bid Conference held in the City Engineer’s Office, Alfred Stiff Professional Building, 20 E Olive St, Bozeman, MT at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2010. Interested CONTRACTORS are encouraged to attend. CONTRACTOR and any of the CONTRACTOR’S subcontractors doing work on this project will be required to obtain registration with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). Forms for registration are available from the Department of Labor and Industry, P.O. Box 8011, 1805 Prospect, Helena, Montana 59604-8011. Information on registration can be obtained by calling 1-406-444-7734. Section 00100 INVITATION TO BID Page 2 of 2 All laborers and mechanics employed by contractors or sub-contractors in performance of the construction work shall be paid wages at rates as may be required by the laws of the State of Montana. Each entity submitting under this notice shall include a provision affirming in writing the submitting entity will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, marital status, national origin, or because of actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity or disability in the exercise of contract should it be awarded to that entity. Each entity submitting under this notice shall also recognize in writing the eventual contract will contain a provision prohibiting discrimination as described above and this prohibition on discrimination shall apply to the hiring and treatment of the Contractor’s employees and to all subcontracts. Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond payable to The City of Bozeman, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. Successful BIDDERS shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Insurance as required shall be provided by the successful BIDDER(s) and a certificate(s) of that insurance shall be provided. This project is funded in part or in whole with funding from: Montana Department of Commerce Local Government Infrastructure Grant Program through the Montana Reinvestment Act (HB 645). No bid may be withdrawn or accepted after the scheduled time for the public opening of bids, which is Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 2 p.m. The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals received, to waive informalities, to postpone the award of the contract for a period of not to exceed sixty (60) days, and to accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid which is in the best interest of the OWNER.
