She is currently a graduate student at Montana State University studying mental health counseling. Before beginning graduate school, she worked most recently for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks as the Regional Information and Education Manager. Prior to that she worked as a conservation advocate at the Greater Yellowstone Coalition. She has an undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of Maine and a graduate degree in political science from Boston College. Originally from Maine, she came to Bozeman on a National Student Exchange for her last semester as an undergraduate, and fell in love with the town, its people, and the mountains. She quickly made Bozeman her permanent home. Melissa lives with her partner Jim, and two black- and white-spotted four- legged critters.
