HomeMy WebLinkAboutOnline ethics training, 2010-11, City of Bozeman ANNOUNCEMENT OF CITY OF BOZEMAN ANNUAL CODE OF ETHICS TRAINING January, 2011 Dear City of Bozeman􀀃􀀄􀂆􀂘􀂋􀂕􀂑􀂔􀂛􀀃􀀅􀂑􀂃􀂔􀂆􀀃􀀐􀂇􀂏􀂄􀂇􀂔: Annual ethics training is required under the City Charter for all City of Bozeman advisory board members and City employees. In an effort to facilitate this training, the City employed the Montana State University Local Government Center to develop an online training course. The training is based upon material from the recently completed City of Bozeman Ethics Handbook and consists of four short chapters with 7-9 questions after each chapter. This training should take between ½ and 1 ½ hours to complete and has been set up so you do not need to complete it all at once. In other words, you can log out and log back in, picking up where you left off. You can also retake the quizzes as many times as necessary to achieve a passing score. This training requires access to a computer with an internet connection and an email address. The Bozeman Public Library has free access access to online computers and City Hall has two online computers available for use. If accessibility to a computer or lack of an email address is an issue, please let Deputy Clerk Aimee Kissel know (406-582-2320 or akissel@bozeman.net) and she will arrange accommodations. To begin, read the City of Bozeman Ethics Handbook. It can be downloaded at http://weblink.bozeman.net/WebLink8/ElectronicFile.aspx?docid=42425&&dbid=0, or you may request a copy. Step by Step Instructions for the online training are enclosed. Please complete this training by March 1, 2011. Questions? Technology -Related: Even though the online training was designed to be more convenient and less time consuming than in-house training, folks may be unfamiliar or uncomfortable with its use. If you are unsure how to proceed or have any difficulties or frustrations contact Aimee Kissel. Training Content-Related: If you have questions about the information in the training, contact Pattie Berg in Human Resources at 582-2346 (pberg@bozeman.net) or City Attorney Greg Sullivan at 582-2311 (gsullivan@bozeman.net). Again, please complete the training by March 1, 2011. Sincerely, CHRIS KUKULSKI City Manager STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS CITY OF BOZEMAN ANNUAL CODE OF ETHICS TRAINING January, 2011 1.
