Babcock Street, Suite 3 Bozeman, MT 59715 RE: 811 Mendenhall Traffic Impact Study Lamme Street Addendum Dear Cody, It is my understanding that the City of Bozeman has requested some clarification on the potential traffic impacts from the 811 Mendenhall project. The November 2023 TIS did not allocate any traffic from the development north through the existing alley to Lamme Street. While we do not feel that the proposed project will send a significant amount of traffic through the alley to Lamme Street, some traffic will likely travel in this direction. The total amount of this traffic using the alley to the north will likely be low as Lamme Street does not provide significant access to any particular location, and the existing alley is fairly narrow (~12 feet). It is estimated that 5-10% of the total traffic from the project could travel north along the alley to Lamme Street. This equates to 20 to 40 VPD or 2-4 vehicle per hour. Lamme Street is a local residential street with a paved width of 32 feet. The road has STOP controls on the cross street at 8th Avenue and 10th Avenue, and stop controls on Lamme Street at 7th Avenue, 9th Avenue, and 11th Avenue. Visibility from the alley onto Lamme Street is unrestricted. Traffic conditions would not be significantly impacted along Lamme Street and no traffic control or roadway modifications would be required to serve the 811 Mendenhall project. If you have any additional questions regarding this project, please contact me at 406-459-1443. Sincerely, Bob Abelin, P.E. PTOE Abelin Traffic Services, Inc.
