Sara Rushing is an Associate Professor of Political Science at MSU. She specializes in political theory, with
a particular interest in democratic theory, virtue ethics, and the qualities and experiences that motivate
people toward citizen activism. Sara moved to Bozeman in 2002, and is raising three kids with her
partner, Scott. When she’s not in the classroom, she leads a student club (the Political Theory
Consortium), serves as the faculty advisor to MSU’s Queer Straight Alliance, and is an MSU Family
Advocate. She likes to run, splash in rivers, and contemplate life’s mysteries.
