HomeMy WebLinkAbout015 - PROJECT NARRATIVEPROJECT NARRATIVE 5th & Main| SPR SUBMITTAL 5th & Main | BOZEMAN, MT, 59715 11.01 From the conception of this mixed use project, our design team has been focused on providing the utmost in quality for the users of the building, and Downtown Bozeman. We are striving to provide timeless elegance in our exterior, modern, high quality, interior residential units, and an exciting ground floor opportunity for commercial space and residents on the ground level. We feel this site is an important link between the residential neighborhoods to the north, and the historic Main street of Downtown. We also find the project poised in a unique position between downtown Bozeman’s up-and-coming midtown. This link can be seen in the use of the building, the massing, and the materials. Conceptually we gravitate to the ideas of an urban living experience in Bozeman. We want to gesture to the historic and mountain-town qualities of downtown while using materiality and location to pull the identity of midtown deeper into Bozeman’s urban fabric. DESIGN INTENT The proposed design for 5th and Main includes amenity opportunities for both the residents as well as the public. At the main entry there is a lobby that provides a buffer between the interior and exterior environment with available seating for the residents as well as space for social gatherings in the adjacent tv lounge. Additionally, there is a fitness facility with available storage for the residents to use at their convenience. The project also hosts cowork facilities including a conference room. While the Landscape Architecture occurs at the ground floor, residents can really experience it at the second level roof deck overlooing Main Street. Roof top amentities at the top level (level 6) of the building allow for the most advantageous views on the site. Providing a lounge and dining space at the roof top enables the residents to engage in an outdoor experience while being removed from the streetscape. The rooftops provides separation from the streetscape and also provides vthe opportunity for the residents to interact with one another. Lastly, on the ground floor of 5th and Main, a retail space will hold the east corner taking it’s place as a gateway to the hustle and bustle of downtown. The parking garage is also intended to provide an added convenience within the design for the residence.
