Concept signage is included below to identify character and intent. Each element will be carefully designed, proportioned, and placed with respect to the development’s architectural approach, the surrounding community aesthetic, and the City of Bozeman as a whole. All signage, with the exception of the home address markers, will be designed and installed by the Applicant. The signage will help enhance the character of the community, by being informative and appealing to residents and visitors alike. Entry Monument Sign An entry sign will be installed to identify the development as “Shady Glen.” The sign will be located in Common Open Space 05, north of Shady Glen Lane where it enters the property from The Links Condominiums. The sign will be free- standing, internally illuminated through solar power, and integrated with a landscaped planter. The shape, size, and color of the sign will complement the surrounding environment and the Shady Glen design standards. Typical and Secondary Signage Typical trail marking and street signs such as the City/GVLT standard trail head and pet waste/leash requirements signage will be posted in the community areas and at trails. Sign placement will include trail entries, street fronts, emergency access, and the community/play areas. To reduce visual clutter and communicate development information such as enhancing the preservation of the federally protected wetlands, signs will be limited to necessary areas to inform residents and visitors. Wayfinding directional signage will be located to demarcate trail entries and the community/play areas. Signs will also be provided to mark the boundary of the wildlife refuge. Signs will be similar in design to signage utilized and prevalent elsewhere in the city to promote familiarity and consistency. Typical examples are represented below: Shady Glen PUD February 22, 2022 Preliminary PUD Application - Signage Plan Outline Page 2 Lot Address Signage Address markers are to be installed on the main entry façade of each residence. They have been created to establish the language and design criteria for the built environment and are based on a commitment to establish a strong “sense of place” for the community. Interpretive Signage The Applicant proposes to include interpretive/educational signage at two locations in the project: at (within common open area 02 near Shady Glen Lane and the northeast corner of Lot 6, and within Common Open Space 04 near the community/play area in the southeast corner of the development. The signs will include educational and informative information on the federally protected wetlands and wildlife refuge. They will outline a brief background on the area and provide identification for the typical wildlife one might expect to see residing in the area. Signage is still in development but is expected to be similar to the examples noted below and no larger than 24” by 36” in size.
