All construction work on this project shall be completed in accordance with Montana Public WorksStandard Specifications, Sixth Edition, April 2010 MPWSS and City of Bozeman Modifications to the MontanaPublic Works Standard Specifications, Sixth Edition, March 2011, including all addendums.2. The Contractor shall restore all roadway/curb & gutter/sidewalk surfaces to equal or better condition thanexisted prior to excavation, as determined by Owner and the Engineer.3. The location, depth and size of existing utilities shown on these plans is approximate. The Contractorshall field verify the existence, location, depth, size, line and grade of existing utilities/connections prior toconstruction. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for any damage to the existing facilities due tofailure to locate or provide proper protection when location is known.4. The contractor shall adjust all valve boxes, curb boxes, and manholes to final grade upon completion of allconstruction. Any boxes or manholes damaged or otherwise disturbed by the contractor or anysubcontractor shall be repaired at the expense of the contractor. This work shall be incidental to the project,separate payment will not be made.5. Access for other contractors working on the site and emergency vehicles shall be preserved at all times.6. The contractor shall notify One Call @ 1-800-424-5555 for onsite utility location. All existing utilities shallbe marked before digging.7. The Contractor shall notify the Water Department a minimum of 24 hours prior to beginning any work.8. All existing or new valves which control the COB's water supply shall be operated by COB personnel only.9. Contractor shall field verify line and grade of existing connections.10. Contractor to preserve all existing survey monuments. Any survey monument disturbed or destroyed without Engineers approval to be replaced at contractors expense.11. Contractor may waste excess material at location designated by owner or haul material off site.12. All valves shall be installed with thrust blocking, and valve boxes in accordance with C.O.B. modificationsand C.O.B. detail 02660-3.13. All fittings including bends greater than 11-1/4 degrees, tees and plugs requiring thrust blocking shall beinstalled in conformance with C.O.B. Modifications and MPW detail 02660-1.14. 6-inch fire service line shall be installed in accordance with C.O.B.'s Fire Service Line Standard (Std.Dwg. No. 02660-13). These plans are for construction of the 6" fire service from the existing water main tothe OS&Y valve in the building. Coordinate with building's mechanical/plumbing plans and interior piping.15. The fire service line shall be installed, chlorinated and tested to a minimum of 200 psi by a singleContractor. Morrison-Maierle, Inc. shall provide construction observation and prepare the record drawingsand certificate of inspection for fire service line installation. Contractor shall fill out and submit "Contractor'sMaterial and Test Certificate For Underground Piping".16. Datum used is the City of Bozeman Datum.17. City of Bozeman to operate all valves and shall make tap of existing main. Contractor shall expose main,provide and install tapping tee and valve.18. A preconstruction conference shall be required prior to the start of construction. No changes may bemade to these plans without the approval of City Engineering and/or the City Water/Sewer Superintendent.19. Contractor is responsible for obtaining street cut permits prior to construction. Contractor shall backfill/install base material/slurry per street cut permit and/or as required by City of Bozeman Engineering.Pavement thickness to meet or exceed the existing pavement thickness (3-inch minimum).20. The Contractor shall restore all landscaping/irrigation disturbed or damaged during construction.
