The material used to backfill the existing pond will be placed in accordance with the Montana Public Works Standard Specifications as a Type C Backfill in order to assure that the material does not settle significantly after placement but also is not compacted to a point where it is would interfere with groundwater migration or plant growth. 2. Existing soil to be excavated is fill material from overburden from adjacent construction activities. Once grade is cut down to finish grade surface the Engineer, in consultation with Wetland Consultant, will determine if the material is suitable for use as top soil or if additional excavation is needed and fill material from the project site is needed to create a viable growth media. 3.
