Residential Site Drainage Self Certification & Stormwater Controls The final site drainage plan must be completed according to the minimum requirements listed below.Approval from the City Stormwater Department and the Building Division will be required prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy. This completed form must be received as part of your building permit application and must be approved prior to the issuance of your building permit. Drainage • A minimum slope of 2%(1/4 inch per foot)has been provided where possible to facilitate site drainage. • A minimum slope of 2%(1/4 inch per foot)has been provided for at least 5 feet away from the building foundation. • New construction shall direct attendant stormwater drainage into public or private facilities, not onto the land of adjoining property owners. • A minimum of 6 inches has been provided from the finish grade to the bottom of the exterior siding. • Roof downspouts must be directed to splash blocks that deflect the water away from the building. Grading must direct water away from the splash blocks and the building. • Roof and site drainage must be directed to permeable areas of the site.The overall site drainage will be designed to take full advantage of these areas. • Basement,crawlspace or foundation subsoil drainage systems, including systems utilizing sump pumps may not be drained directly onto the public way. Stormwater Control-Construction Stormwater Permit is required • Disturbed land areas must be protected and contained preventing soil or debris from entering or being tracked onto any road,alley,gutter,storm drain,waterway,or adjacent property. • Construction dewatering must run clear at all times and cannot pick up sediment prior to reaching any inlet,detention pond,curb chase,ditch,or waterway. • Material piles must be protected by covering with a tarp or installing adequate perimeter protection measures. Note: Material piles stored in any city right-of-way require an Encroachment Permit approved by the City's Engineering Department. • Infrastructure protection measures must be installed and maintained for all inlets, curb chases, ditches and waterways receiving runoff from the permitted project site. • Waste concrete and truck washout must be disposed of in a designated lined pit or container. • Pollutants and solid wastes must be stored in a covered bin. ** For information on how to properly select and install appropriate stormwater control measures for your site and to view the City's Enforcement Response Plan visit www.bozeman.net/stormwater.
