HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-21-22 Downtown Business Improvement District Board Minutes Downtown Business Improvement District Board Meeting Minutes September 21, 2022 Attending: Eric Bowman, Emily Cope, Terry Cunningham, Erik Nelson, Susan Neubauer, Ellie Staley, Eric Sutherland Absent: Ileana Indreland Minutes ACTION: Eric Bowman moved to approve the June minutes as presented. Erik Nelson seconded the motion. All voted in favor. Public Comment None. Discussion Items September Finance Report Emily provided a summary of the year-to-date income and expenses from the September finance report. The flower basket sponsorship program had a record year with $14,500 in income. Economic Development Director’s Report The application is open for the vacant BID Board positions. Emily stated she knows of one property owner who may be interested in applying. Emily asked the board to assist with getting the word out and notifying any interested parties of how to apply. Ellie provided an update that the MOA was passed as a consent item at the September 20th City Commission meeting. This MOA provides a general outline of the agreement between the City and the County for the land swap with 75 guaranteed spaces for County employees and free parking validation for citizens using services at the courthouse. Ellie provided an update that the second paid parking work session will be happening at a fall City Commission meeting. Erik Nelson asked if parking is a concern of the BID board. The board asked how public comment would be given at this meeting. Ellie stated that she will meet with the Partnership Management Committee to receive direction on public comment. The flower baskets were taken down on September 20th. Emily notified the board that Trish will be keeping her garage cleaning contract moving into the winter season but not general maintenance. Emily will be hiring for a part-time general maintenance employee for the winter season. The board discussed the self-watering baskets versus the traditional wrought-iron baskets. Emily will begin to look into a second maintenance truck for the BID. Meeting was adjourned at 12:50pm
