We are requesting a variance from BMC 38.510.030.B requiring at least a 5’ average depth along at least 60” of the façade. During review with our project architect and the NWX DRC we found that a 5’ average depth looked out of scale with our buildings and architecture. We are proposing storefront awnings that are 3’-6” in depth. Design of the awnings can be seen on sheet A-2.2 within our drawing set. We appreciate your consideration of this request as we believe it is in keeping with the intent of providing weather protection at building entries, while balancing the architectural aesthetic established in the NWX Design Guidelines.
