Addendum 1, Item 3 Section 00500 of the Agreement Form, Article 1. Work is changed to read: 1.01 Contractor shall complete all Work as specified or indicated in the Contract Documents. The Work is generally described as follows: Contractor to drill one 16-inch diameter test well to a planned depth of 175 feet. A 12-inch borehole will then be advanced to a depth of approximately 500 feet, including steel casing and stainless steel screen. Install pump and conduct pumping test. Contractor is also to drill a 10-inch monitoring well to a depth of 175 feet, and a 6-inch borehole to a depth of approximately 500 feet. Forty (40) feet of telescoping screen will be placed at the bottom of this well with the 6-inch casing pulled back to expose the screen. An annular seal is required from 175 ft. to surface of the monitoring well. Addendum 1, Item 4 The project Scope of Work, as found in Section 007000 - Special Provisions, Item 1. Scope of Work, is deleted and replaced with the following project description and sequencing: Work to include drilling of a test well and monitoring well at the Sports Park location near the intersection of Oak Street and Flanders Mill in Bozeman, Montana. The monitoring well will be drilled first followed by the test well at locations shown on the plans and specified by the Engineer. Subsequent work includes installation of a test pump and related equipment to support a 72-hour pumping test of the test well. The proposed test and monitoring well designs described below are preliminary and subject to change, depending on site conditions. The test well will be used to evaluate the capacity of the aquifer to produce groundwater in quantities suitable for a municipal well in a public drinking water system. The test well is intended to produce up to 1,000 gallons per minute (gpm), and a minimum of 500 gpm, from a layered sedimentary aquifer located near the distal portion of the Bozeman Fan alluvial fan deposit. Multiple screened intervals are anticipated, designed to connect the well screen to the coarse, more productive layers of the aquifer. The screened portions of the well will be accomplished by installation of manufactured telescoping screen sections. An annular grout seal from the estimated top of the Tertiary sediments (175 ft. depth) to ground surface is planned to seal off any shallower, Quaternary water-bearing zones. The monitoring well will be completed to a depth of approximately 500 feet. A 10-inch borehole will be drilled to 175 ft. and a 6-inch borehole to total depth. Forty (40) feet of telescoping screen will be placed at the bottom of this well with the 6-inch casing pulled back to expose the screen. An annular seal is required from 175 ft. to surface. For the test well, a 16-inch borehole is planned to a depth of 175 ft. A 12-inch borehole will then be advanced to a depth of approximately 500 ft. Telescoping screen sections will be placed inside the 12-inch casing at intervals specified by the Engineer, with corresponding blank pipe sections and a sand/gravel pack placed. The 12-inch casing will then be pulled back to expose the screened intervals. An annular seal is required from 175 ft. to surface. A step-test pumping test is needed for both wells to develop the well screens. A 72- hour constant-rate pumping test is also planned for the Test Well to collect data necessary for aquifer analysis. Contractor is to provide the pump, generator, inline flow meter, flow control valve and discharge line piping, adequate to control and direct discharge water to a nearby surface ditch, 500 to 800 feet to the northeast. Additionally, Contractor is to provide support as needed during the test duration. Site improvements needed for access and drill pad are to be provided by the Contractor prior to drilling. Approximately 1,000 feet of temporary road are estimated to be necessary. Materials used for access road and drill pad will be suitable to support drilling equipment to be used on the project. Water needed for drilling and well development will be provided from a nearby hydrant or from the Monitoring Well, when completed. Use of water from a City hydrant shall be on a weather-permitting basis. Contractor must keep hydrant from freezing or haul their own water. There is no electrical power on the site. Addendum 1, Item 5 Section 012000 Measurement and Payment of the Special Provisions, Item 1.04 is changed to read: Item E: Bid Items No. 1 through No. 18 are listed individually on the Bid Form. Item F: (Added Item). Contractor may submit payment requests for materials procured prior to installation. Payment for materials shall be for materials and shipping only; no allowance is provided for overhead or profit mark-ups on materials.
