Linhoff - Fowler Avenue Connection project bad for BozemanFrom:Mary Linhoff To:Agenda Subject:Fowler Avenue Connection project bad for Bozeman Date:Monday, July 25, 2022 8:42:05 PM CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. I advocate for an in perpetuity, non-paved trail system with naturalwater flow. My family and I will be personally affected by the destruction of this critical waterway and green space. My grandchildren and I walk this path 3x week, watching for the nesting owl. We listen and try to identify the bird's songs. My grandchildren will be robbed of delighting in nature. Children are the future and need to explore the natural world and get exercise. I oppose the destruction of this unique greenspace corridor the importance of SLDC was documented in a study. The Oak Street-to-Babcock Street greenspace corridor is a subsection of Bozeman’s 122-year-old (circa 1900) Section Line Ditch Corridor (SLDC), which over 20 years ago was found to be ecologically important to native Montana plants (e.g., cottonwood trees) and wildlife (e.g., migratory birds). Historic loss of this unique Cottonwood habitat and its home for the diversity of our local wildlife must be preserved. You owe it to our children. Your leadership in preserving and honoring ecological importance is critical to our families. Mary Linhoff
