The demand is estimated based on guidelines provided in the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) Circular 4 and the City of Bozeman Design Standards and Specifications. There is an existing ¾” water service stub off Nikles Drive. The water service line is anticipated to be abandoned at the main (requires a street cut) and a new 1-inch service line installed to serve the phase 1 structure. A new water service would be provided for the future/phase 2 structure via the existing main located in Evergreen drive. We anticipate extending the services for the phase 2 structure as part of the phase 1 improvements to avoid cutting the parking improvements associated with phase 1. An average daily water usage rate of 13 gal/day/employee was assumed for the site and is consistent with the average wastewater flow rate given by MDEQ-Circular 4. A maximum day to average day ratio of 2.3:1 was used as outlined in section V.A.4 of the COB Design Standards and Specifications. Please see the attached calculations for additional information. A summary is provided below. The estimated demands do not consider irrigation. Phase 1  Number of employees = 15  Average daily demand = 195 gpd (0.14 gpm)  Maximum daily demand = 448.5 gpd (0.31 gpm) 11/23/2021 Allied Engineering Services, Inc. Memo Page 2 Phase 2  Number of employees assumed (TBD) = 20  Average daily demand = 260 gpd (0.18 gpm)  Maximum daily demand = 598 gpd (0.42 gpm) Please contact Madeline Good and/or Rory Romey at 406-582-0221 or mgood@alliedengineering.com; rromey@alliedengineering.com with any questions or if additional information is required.
