Dear Mr. Krueger:
This Zoning VerificaMon applicaMon requests wriOen confirmaMon that the organizaMon
"Random Acts of Silliness" can uMlize the exisMng building at 203 North Church Avenue as a
legal nonconforming use situaMon. The current building is used as a community center and
Random Acts of Silliness also meets the definiMon of a community center. The mission
statement for our organizaMon is: "Random Acts of Silliness (RAS) is a visual arts and theater
organizaMon inspiring laughter and play in the GallaMn Valley. We build community by
sparking whimsy and creaMvity in the young - and young at heart - through quirky and
engaging art installaMons, theater producMons and random acts of silliness. Our work weaves
together playfulness, magic, surprise, and rich story telling. We value and support arMsts,
accessibility, sustainability, and connecMon to nature."
Random Acts of Silliness was incorporated on November 12, 2021 and is organized as a
Montana charitable nonprofit public benefit corporaMon and is in the process of applying to
the I.R.S. for recogniMon of its status as an organizaMon described in Internal Revenue Code
SecMon 501(c)(3), which will be retroacMve to its date of incorporaMon, and which will also
enMtle donors to a charitable income tax deducMon under Internal Revenue Code SecMon
170(c)(2) for contribuMons made to Random Acts of Silliness from its incepMon. Please note
that this applicaMon is only for the south structure currently used as a church. The applicant
understands that any new signage requires a sign permit and that exterior alteraMons other
than repair and reasonable accommodaMon to improve accessibility will require a
Commercial COA.
