Bozeman, MT (45.648407°, -111.039044° (WGS 84)) On June 10, 2020, Ron Orton of Allied Engineering performed wetland mapping along Bozeman Creek. The purpose of the mapping is to provide a wetland boundary that will be used for setback documentation from the mapped wetlands. As directed, the western wetland fringe was mapped along Bozeman Creek within the property boundary. A comprehensive wetland delineation was not conducted in full accordance with the documents listed below, however methods for mapping are based on wetland delineation procedures that include technical guidelines and methods using a multi-parameter approach for consistency with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and include: Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual January 1987 Regional Supplement to the Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual: Western Mountains, Valleys, and Coast Region (Version 2.0) May 2010 Western Mountains, Valleys, and Coast 2014 Regional Wetland Plant List [Click here and type date] Allied Engineering Services, Inc. Memo Page 2 2016 Update National Wetland Plant List Corp of Engineers Jurisdictional Determination Form Instructional Guidebook The mapped wetland fringe along Bozeman Cr. varies in width (3-12 feet) for the southern portion that includes an herbaceous emergent palustrine wetland for most of the corridor. Wetland species in this area include meadow fox tail, Kentucky bluegrass, beaked sedge, small fruited bulrush, willow herb, Nebraska sedge, cinquefoil, and creeping spike rush. The northern most wetland is a scrub-shrub wetland that narrows to approximately 1 to 3 feet wide. Species include choke cherry, ash, burdock and stinging nettle. Upland areas transition quickly from wetlands to a steep slope west of the wetland area. Species include dandelion, cheatgrass, Kentucky bluegrass, orchard grass, and smooth brome. Weedy species observed include Canada thistle, houndstongue, and cheatgrass. Refer to the attached wetland data sheets for more information about hydric soils, hydrophytic vegetation, and hydrology that are the three parameters used for determining wetland/non-wetland boundaries. The wetlands flags were located using survey grade procedures on the Montana State Plane Coordinate system.
