Location mao�r ouiromy y.brr FHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance, notino additions, alterations,and changes in materials.Discuss significant architectural features. t 1 This two-story single-family residence has a rectangular plan with - projections including a projected front entrance with rusticated flanking pilasters and an oak paneled door with leaded stained glass panes. Above the entrance is a flush balcony with a paneled french door and decorative iron railing. Windows are casement with louvered shutters and curved segmental brick arches over the lintels. The brick construction is built in a running bond pattern (American bond) and sits on a concrete foundation. The hipped roof is covered with cedar shingles and features dormers and a large brick chimney with two decorative spiral ceramic flues. The attached garage has been ` remodeled into bedrooms. Willson. Son of General Lester Willson, an early Bozeman resident, Willson was born in 1877 in Bozeman. He attended Columbia University in architecture and studied two years abroad. He first practiced with C.S. Haire in Helena. In his large Bozeman practice from 1910-1956, he designed many public commercial and residential buildings. Willson designed this house for James R. Chambers from Fisher Department Store. This structure is potentially eligible for the National Register because of its historical associations and because of its architectural significance. INTEGRITY: Assess the degree to which the structure/site,and surrounding area accurately convey the historical associations of the property.
