HomeMy WebLinkAboutMT02135A_CUP_ProjectNarrativeT-Mobile Cell Site Proposal on The Osborne Building: Project Narrative T-Mobile proposes a new rooftop wireless communications facility on The Osborne building. This facility intends to provide new service in the downtown Bozeman and surrounding areas and improve coverage and capacity for T-Mobile customers. The facility will consist of two equipment cabinets and other ancillary equipment on a 12’x7.5’ equipment platform on the main roof, along with 6 new antennas placed behind a new four-sided screen wall designed to look like an extension of the building’s existing penthouse. All exposed rooftop equipment will be painted to match the existing surroundings of the equipment. The facility will be designed by an engineer to ensure that the existing facility can accommodate the proposed T-Mobile equipment loading. This location was chosen specifically by T-Mobile radio frequency engineers due to its height, location, space availability, and modern architecture suitable for viable appearance modifications. The Osborne Building is taller than the neighboring structures, and the signal from the antennas is intended to propagate over the largest area that is technically viable to meet coverage objectives, and not concentrated toward neighboring buildings, therefore there should not be any adverse effects upon the neighboring properties. Additional conditions that may be stated in the City’s conditions of approval will be deemed necessary to protect the public health, safety and welfare, and those conditions will be incorporated into T- Mobile’s project plans and design.
