To Whom it May Concern, Christin Pearcy of Morrison-Maierle asked Gallatin Conservation District to inspect a property on which they are currently working on a development project. Ms. Pearcy stated that it was requested by the city of
Bozeman to make a determination on whether the drained swell is a natural watercourse or irrigation facility,
as well as whether or not it is conveying water from adjacent properties. Gallatin Conservation District representative met Ms. Pearcy at the site for a field inspection on July 7th, 2020. The issue was also discussed with the GCD Board of Supervisors at our board meeting, July 16, 2020.
The inspection team and the Supervisors are all in agreement that this area is non-jurisdictional by CD
definition. There is no indication of current or past water conveyance or presence. Please feel free contact me with any questions or concerns.
