HomeMy WebLinkAboutReplacement & Demo Cost - 11.30.2020REPLACEMENT COST & DEMO ANALYSIS Schwalm Studio REPLACEMENT COST SUMMARY The replacement cost was calculated in its current condition and does not factor in necessary updates to meet today’s code standards. Existing insulation R-value does not meet energy code. Existing electrical outlets do not meet electrical code. Existing windows are single-paned and do not meet energy code. The replacement cost of the existing studio was calculated EXTREMELY conservatively. The replacement cost was only calculated using fixed material and labor costs to compare versus demolition; the cost to replace does not factor in permitting costs, or contractor fees. Furthermore, this replacement cost does not factor in contractor’s site prep, excavation, dumpster, toilet, or equipment rental fees. CALCULATION OF REPLACEMENT COST The exterior of the existing studio is to remain mostly intact, with the majority of the renovation being an interior remodel. The major cost items: roofing, wall framing, and foundation (including existing crawlspace and floor framing) all remain.
