General Project Description This report will give an overview of the proposed relocation of the 8"water main for the development of Lot 12 in Gallatin Center. The site is situated at the NW corner intersection of Cattail Street and Max Avenue in Bozeman, MT. The 11.38-acre site is zoned B-2, a community business district to provide for a broad range of mutually supportive retail and service functions. The legal description of the site is Lot 12A, Lot 12B and 12C Gallatin Center Subdivision PUD Phase IV S35, TO S, R05 E P.M.M., Bozeman, Gallatin County Montana. The proposed development is anticipated to be constructed during the fall of 2018. Once the water main is constructed and approved, the system will become a part of the City of Bozeman system. B. Proposed Water Relocation The proposed water main relocation consists of approximately 718 linear feet of new 8" ductile iron pipe extending south along the proposed parking driveway for the future building of Winco. The main will connect to the existing 8"water main on the north end and to the existing 8"water main on Cattail Street. The proposed relocation is due to the development of the Gallatin Center Subdivision and the encroachment of the proposed Winco building. The relocation will continue to support adequate capacity, no change in pipe size is required. The layout of the proposed water main meets the COB design criteria and will be located within a 30' wide easement and separated from the proposed sanitary sewer main by a minimum distance of 10 feet horizontally.New fire hydrants will be installed to not to exceed 600' spacing, fulfilling the distance requirement for fire hydrant spacing, as well as assisting in flushing of the main. New gate valves will be installed at the connection point to the existing mains as well as pipe intersections, per City standards and also meeting spacing requirements. C. Conclusion The proposed 8-inch water main relocation for the development of Gallatin Center Lot 12 will continue to provide adequate service to meet the peak hour demand for the site. The water main design is consistent with the City of Bozeman Water Facility Plan. The existing water main will be removed and will not be used for the relocated main. This project will require the approval of the City of Bozeman Engineer and MDEQ. GALLATIN CENTER LOT 12 SEWER MAIN DESIGN REPORT A. General Project Description This report will give an overview of the proposed relocation of the 8" sanitary sewer for the development of Lot 12 in Gallatin Center. Once the wastewater system is constructed and approved, the system will become a part of the City of Bozeman system. B. Proposed Sewer Relocation The proposed sewer main relocation consists of approximately 131 linear feet of new 8"PVC pipe extending south along the proposed parking driveway for the future building of Winco. The effluent from the Gallatin Center will discharge into a proposed 8-inch diameter sanitary sewer main via services. The effluent in the 8-inch will then flow east into an existing 8-inch sewer main. The proposed relocation is due to the development of the Gallatin Center Subdivision and the encroachment of the proposed Winco building. The relocation will continue to support adequate capacity, no change in pipe size is required. The layout of the proposed sewer main meets the COB design criteria and will be located within a 30' wide easement and separated from the proposed water main by a minimum distance of 10-feet horizontally and 18-inches vertically from any proposed or existing public water mains. The maximum manhole spacing will be 400 feet for the 8-inch sewer main. Manholes will be constructed according to COB specifications. All sewer services will be 4-inch PVC minimum installed at 2% minimum grade. Sewer services will connect into the main with in-line gasketed wyes. C. Conclusion The proposed 8-inch sewer main relocation for the development of Gallatin Center Lot 12 will continue to provide adequate service to meet the peak hour demand for the site. The sewer main design is consistent with the City of Bozeman Wastewater Facility Plan. The existing sewer main will be removed and will not be used for the relocated main This project will require the approval of the City of Bozeman Engineer and MDEQ.
