Third Revision 1985 Despite alterations to the porch and the varied, non-contributing sheathing, this house is a contributing element in the district. The simple Bungalow style house appears to be the work of local builder J.A. Bartholomew. The house was built for Joseph A. Thalen, a professor of electrical engineering at Montana State College from 1901 to 1938. Thalen apparently lived here until 1938. 1 Bibliography Application for Sewer Connection: Nov. 3, 1910, J.A.
