HomeMy WebLinkAbout6.15_Gallatin Subaru_Civil Engineering Report App D_MaintenanceSTORMWATER SYSTEM MAINTENANCE The stormwater system shall be maintained on a regular basis to ensure the long-term functioning of the pond, culverts, and outlet structures as designed. The storm system maintenance will be the responsibility of the property owner. Maintenance shall be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with the inspection form and maintenance checklist provided in this Appendix. System failure may occur when standing water remains in the pond for more than 48 hours following a rain event. This failure can result from fine sediments clogging the gravel drain at the bottom of the pond or clogging of the outlet orifice. To remedy this the orifice should be inspected and cleaned. Cleaning or replacement of gravel drain bed may be needed if sediment has clogged the gravel. Table 5.7-1 of Montana Post-Construction Storm Water BMP Design Guidance Manual (shown below) outlines the recommended maintenance activity and the frequency of maintenance of the system.
