RESOLUTION NO. 5158
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, ACCEPTING THE TRIANGLE COMMUNITY PLAN AND
ESTABLISHING IT AS A BASIS FOR COORDINATION IN LAND USE PLANNING AND
DEVELOPMENT WITH GALLATIN COUNTY AND THE CITY OF BELGRADE.
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman has long recognized land development and use as an
issues that transcends individual jurisdictional boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman has adopted a strategic plan that supports
intergovernmental cooperation and a well-planned city; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Coordinating Committee (PCC) was formed as a joint
endeavor of Gallatin County, City of Belgrade, and City of Bozeman to facilitate discussion and
coordination in the area of land use and related subjects; and
WHEREAS, the PCC has after adequate public notice, participation, and comment
opportunities prepared the Triangle Community Plan;and
WHEREAS,the City of Bozeman Planning Board considered the Triangle Community
Plan on February 4,2020 and made a recommendation to the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, on February 10, 2020,the Bozeman City Commission considered the draft
and provided comments for the PCC to consider; and
WHEREAS, the PCC met on March 3, 2020 and considered all suggestions from the
public and the three participating jurisdictions and after discussion adopted various revisions to the

text of the plan; and

WHEREAS,the PCC met on March 3,2020 and after public comment opportunity voted
unanimously to recommend approval of the Triangle Community Plan to the elected officials of
Gallatin County, City of Belgrade, and City of Bozeman; and
WHEREAS, the Bozeman City Commission hereby finds that the acceptance of the
Triangle Community Plan is in the best interests of the City of Bozeman and the inhabitants/owners
thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of
Bozeman,Montana,that:
Section 1
That the Triangle Community Plan, version 6, dated March 3, 2020 is accepted by the City
Commission as a document of the City.
Section 2
The Triangle Community Plan is attached to this resolution as Exhibit A.
Section 3
This resolution is effective upon passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman,Montana,
at a regular session thereof held on the 20th day of April,2020.
