This project will extend approx. 113 feet of new 8-inch Class 51 D.I.P. water main into Lot 1A.The new 8-inch main will tie into an existing 12-inch main in the existing West Service Street. One fire hydrant assembly is proposed for the project. The project includes a water service to the RMCU office building. The proposed main will be capped with the intent of a Lot 2A connection in the future. b. The proposed water main infrastructure will be served by the City of Bozeman. c. Project Developer: Saccoccia Lands II LLC 1234 Springhill Road Bozeman, MT 59715 d. System Owner: City of Bozeman PO Box 1230 Bozeman, Mt 59715 1.1.2 Extent of Water Works System, including: a. The proposed water main extension is an extension of the City of Bozeman water infrastructure in the area. The water main extensions are being built for the Rocky Mountain Credit Union office building. b. The project will tie into existing main located in West Service Street on the west side of the property. The proposed 8" main installed in Lot 1A will capped for a future extension into Lot 2A. 3 c. The existing 8-inch water main extension will service the RMCU office building and is capped for future connection for the Lot 2A(zoned B-2 per the City of Bozeman's Capital Planning). 1.1.3 Alternate Plans The alignment of the proposed main was chosen to meet the layout of the proposed RMCU office (in Lot 1A)and the future needs for Lot 2A. 1.1.4 Site Conditions a. The Lot 1A site has existing grades of less than 4% and Enbar loam soil deposits. b. The Lot 1A site is favorable for building foundation construction. c. The ground water flows from the south to the north and is approx. 5 feet from the existing ground elevations (per Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology website). 1.1.5 Water Use Data The following section addresses the design capacity and flow requirements discussed in Section 8 of DEQ - 1. The proposed water main extension will serve the RMCU office building. The capacity requirement for the water main extension is calculated as follows: a. It is estimated that 10 employees will work in the proposed RMCU office. RMCU Flows: Assumptions: 13 gpd per office typical employee (Per DEQ 4, Table 3.1-1) RMCU Daily Office Employees (Population) = 10 employees Average Daily Flow = (13 gpd/employee)*(10 employees/day) = 130 gpd Average Daily Flow(ADF) _ (10 Employees)*(130 gpd) = 1,300 gpd = 0.90 gpm 4 Peak Hour Daily Flow (MDF) = 3.0 x Avg Day = 3.0*0.90 = 2.70 gpm RMCU inside Customers Assume 6 tellers with 16.75 inside Customers/hour, at 8hours/day= 804 customers/day 3 Gallons per day per customer (Per DEQ 4, Table 3.1-1 Customers in store) Average Daily Flow(ADF) = (804 Customers)*(3 gpd) = 2,412 gpd = 1.68 gpm Peak Hour Daily Flow(MDF) = 3.0 x Avg Day = 3.0*1.68 = 5.04 gpm Lot 2A Flows: Assumptions: Zoned B2 (per the City of Bozeman's Capital Planning) = 2,000 GAL./ACRE/DAY (COB Design Standards page 52) Lot 2A is 5.53 Acres Average Daily Flow (ADF) = (2,000 GAL./ACRE/DAY)*(5.53 ACRES) = 11,060 gpd = 7.68 gpm Peak Hour Daily Flow(MDF) = 3.0 x Avg. Day = 3.0*7.68 = 23.04 gpm Irrigation Demands: Assumptions: RIVICU (1.52 acres) Landscape Irrigation demands for a month (see Attachment B for irrigation demands) = 38,400 gallons/month Assume that the lot is irrigated for 4.5 months/year = 38,400 gallons/month *4.5 months/year= 172,800 gallons/year =1 72,800 gallons/year = 0.33 gpm 5 Future Construction on Lot 2A Lot 2A = 5.53 Acres Using an irrigation ratio demand from RMCU, = 1.20 gpm Total Irrigation Demand (ADF) = .33 gpm + 1.20 gpm = 1.53 gpm Total Peak Hour Daily Flow(per Attachment B) = 12 gpm per lot = 2 lots (Lot 1A and 2A) * 12 gpm = 24.0 gpm Total Peak Hour Flow = 2.70 gpm + 5.04 gpm + 23.04 gpm + 24.0 gpm = 54.78 qpm 1.1.6 Flow requirements a. Average Daily Flow: 11.79 gpm Maximum Daily Flow: 54.78 gpm Minimum Working Pressure: 35 psi Minimum Pressure for Fire Flow: 20 psi b. Fire flows are based on the City of Bozeman Fire Department requirements for this commercial development of 1,500 gpm for a 2- hour duration. Attachment A calculations show that there will be sufficient pressure for fire flow. 1.1.7 Sources of Water Supply Water is supplied from City of Bozeman. Proposed Treatment Processes Non-applicable. 1.1.8 Sewage System Available The area is served by the City of Bozeman wastewater treatment facility. 1.1.9 Waste Disposal Non-applicable. 6 1.1.10 Automation Non-applicable. 1.1.11 Project Sites a. The project site has been zoned B-2 by the City of Bozeman. b. The project site has been zoned B-2 by the City of Bozeman. The existing site is bound by East Baxter to the north, West Access Drive to the East (with a hotel), and undeveloped field to the West and an existing Lowe's Home Improvement store to the south. c. The wastewater at the site will be conveyed to the City of Bozeman wastewater treatment facility. 1.1.12 Financing Non-applicable. 1.1.13 Future Extensions Lot 2A will connect to the Lot 1A capped line in the future.
