ORDINANCE NO. 1055
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN DESCRIBED LANDS CONTIGUOUS
TO THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA TO BE KNOWN AS BARRICK
ANNEXATION SO AS TO INCLUDE CERTAIN CONTIGUOUS TRACTS
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, AS FOLLOWS:
I Section 1
That the external boundaries of the area to be annexed to the City of Bozeman are
described as follows:
Description of the
Barrick Annexation
PARCEL I.
The East Half of the East Half of the Northeast Quarter of
the Southwest Quarter (E 1/2 E 1/2 NE 1/4SW 1/4 of Section
11, Township 2 South, Range 5 East of the M.P.M., Gallatin
County, Montana.
PARCEL II.
The West Half of the East Half of the Northeast Quarter of
the Southwest Quarter (W 1/2 E 1/2 NE 1/4 SW 1/4 of Section
11, Township 2 South, Range 5 East, M.P.M., Gallatin County,
Montana.
PARCEL III.
All that portion of the South Half of the Northwest Quarter
(S 1/2 NW 1/4) of Section 11, Township 2 South, Range 5
East, within the following metes and bounds, to-wit:
I BEGINNING at a point in the south line of the South Half
of the Northwest Quarter (S 1/2 NW 1/4) of Section 11,
Township 2 South, Range 5 East, said point being 1325.4
feet east of the Southwest corner thereof; thence north
1335.25 feet more or less, to a point in the north line
of said South Half of the Northwest Quarter, said point
being 1368.4 feet east of the Northwest corner thereof;
thence east along the north line of said South Half of
the Northwest Quarter 330 feet; thence South 1334.94
feet, more or less, to the south line of said South Half
of the Northwest Quarter; thence West along said South
line 330 feet to the place of beginning.
PARCEL IV.
All that part of the South Half of the Northwest Quarter
(S 1/2 NE 1/4) of Section 11, Township 2 South, Range 5
East, M.P.M., within the following described metes and
bounds, to-wit: Beginning at a point in the South line
of the South Half of the Northwest Quarter (S 1/2 NW 1/4)
of said Section 11, Township 2 South, Range 5 East, M.P.M.,
said point being 1655.4 feet East of the Southwest corner
thereof; thence North 1334.94 feet, more or less to a point
in the North line of said South Half of the Northwest Quar-
ter (S 1/2 NW 1/4) said point being 1698.4 feet East of
the Northwest corner thereof; thence East along the North
line of said South Half of the Northwest Quarter (S 1/2
NW 1/4) 398.86 feet; thence South 1354.56 feet, more or
less, to the South line of said South Half of the North-
west Quarter (S 1/2 NW 1/4), thence West along said South
line 398.86 feet to the place of beginning.
I EXCEPT all that part of the South Half of the Northwest
Quarter (S 1/2 NW 1/4) of Section 11, Township 2 South,
Range 5 East of the M.P.M., included within the follow-
ing metes and bounds, to-wit: Beginning at a point on
the South line of said South Half of the Northwest Quar-
ter (S 1/2 NW 1/4), said point being 2054.26 feet East
of the Southwest corner of said South Half of the North-
west Quarter (S 1/2 NW 1/4; thence running West along
said South line a distance of 144 feet; thence North 7030.

East a distance of 460 feet; thence North 10056' East
along a ditch a distance of 438 feet; thence due South
884.56 feet to the place of beginning.
PARCEL V.
Tracts One, Two and the East Half of Tract Three of
Smith Subdivision, situated in the North Half of the
Northwest Quarter (N 1/2 NW 1/4) of Section 11, Township I
2 South, Range 5 East, M.P.M., Gallatin County, Montana.
EXCEPT, a tract of land lying in the Northwest Quarter of
Section 11, Township 2 South, Range 5 East, M.P.M, more
particularly described as follows:
From the North Quarter corner of said Section 11, run
West along the North linB of said Section 11, for 185.00
feet; thence run South 1 00'00" West for 139 feet to an
iron pin and the point of beginning of the herein dessribed
tract. From said point of beginning continue South 1 00.00'1
West for 200.00 feet to an iron pin; thence run North 89000'
OO~ West for 100.00 feet to an iron pin; thence run North
89 00.08" West for 100.00 feet to an iron pin; thence run
North 1 Oo'og" East for 200.00 feet to an iron pin; thence
run South 89 00'00" East for 200.00 feet to an iron pin;
thence South 89000'00" East for 100.00 feet to the point
of beginning.
PARCEL VI.
A tract of land lying in the Northwest Quarter of Section
11, Township 2 South, Range 5 East, M.P.M., Gallatin Coun-
ty, Montana, which tract is more particularly described as
follows:
From the North Quarter corner of said Section 11, run West
along the North lise of said Section 11, for 185.00 feet;
thence run South 1 00'00" West for 139.00 feet to an iron
pin and the point of beginning of the herein described
tract. From said point of beginning continue South 01000' I

89 OOIOO~ West for 100.00 feet to an iron pin; thence run
North 89 00'00" West for 109.00 feet to an iron pin; thence
run North 1000'00" bast for 200.00 feet to an iron pin;
thence run South 89 00'00" East for 100.00 feet to the
point of beginning.
Section 2
That pursuant to the provisions of Section 7-2-4701, M.C.A., as amended, it is the
intent of the City of Bozeman to provide services to the area being annexed as set forth
in the report of the City-County Planning Board under date of March 31, 1980.
Section 3
That the area to be annexed to the City of Bozeman is contiguous to the municipal
boundaries at the time the annexing proceedings began.
Section 4
That no part of the area to be annexed is included within the boundaries of another
incorporated municipality.
Section 5
That the area being annexed will conform to the comprehensive plan of the City of Bozeman
as prescribed in Section 7-2-4701, M.C.A., as amended. I
Section 6
That no part of the area is included within the boundaries of any fire district organized
under the provisions of Chapter 20, Title II, R.C.M., 1947, which has been organized at least
ten (10) years prior to the commencement of annexation proceedings.

Section 7
That the effective date of annexation is August 8, 1980.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana and approved
