Message: I have contacted the City Parks Division about a serious and growing problem with
spotted knapweed in the New Hyalite Subdivision. It is east of Holly Drive along a small
informal trail going to the main trail around the subdivision. I got no response to my previous
message to Parks. Last year we tried to dig it and this year it is absolutely out of hand. Much of this park land has native Gallatin Valley vegetation that will be choked out without some
knapweed control. Is there a weed control program that can help decrease this problem in the
short run? I am alerting our neighborhood to the problem in the hopes that we can mobilize the
neighbors to help with plain old digging.
