ORDINANCE NO. 1044
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, ENACTING SECTION 14.32 OF
THE BOZEMAN MUNICIPAL CODE, REGULATING THE ALTERATION, ADDITIONS AND
REPAIRS OF ALL STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA; PROVIDING FOR
THE PROPER LEGAL STEPS IN ABATING DILAPIDATED, DEFECTIVE BUILDINGS WHICH
ENDANGER LIFE, LIMB, HEALTH, MORALS, PROPERTY, SAFETY, OR WELFARE OF THE
GENERAL PUBLIC OR THEIR OCCUPANTS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION
THEREOF; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THERE-
WITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1
14.32.010 Adoption - That a certain document, three copies of which are on file in
the office of the Building Official of the City of Bozeman, being marked and designated as
"Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1979 Edition, published by the
International Conference of Building Officials", be and the same is hereby adopted as the
Abatement of Dangerous Buildings Code of the City of Bozeman for regulating the alteration,
additions, and repairs of all structures in the City of Bozeman; providing for the proper
legal steps in abating dilapidated, defective buildings which endanger life, limb, health,
morals, property, safety, or welfare of the general public or their occupants; providing
penalties for the violation of such code; and each and all of the regulations, provisions,
conditions and terms of such "Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1979
Edition, published by the International Conference of Building Official", on file in the
office of the Building Official, are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof
as if fully set out in this ordinance; save and except portions thereof as have been de-
leted, modified, or amended in the aforementioned official copies.
Section 2
14.32.020 Repeal - That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith,
are hereby repealed.
Section 3
14.32.030 Amendment - Section 205 of said Abatement of Dangerous Building Code is
amended as follows:
In order to provide for final interpretations of the provisions of
this code and to hear appeals provided for hereunder, there is
hereby established a Board of Appeals consisting of the members of
the City Commission. Appeals to the Board shall be processed in
accordance with the provisions contained in Section 501 of this
code.
Section 4
That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after thirty (30) days
after its adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED BY the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, this 28th
day of November, 1979.
