ORDINANCE NO. 1033
AN ORDINANCE PROPOSED FOR THE AREA INCLUDED WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE
BOZEMAN CITY-COUNTY PLANNING BOARD REQUIRING THAT ALL SUBDIVISIONS BE RE-
QUIRED TO CONFORM TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE BOZEMAN AREA MASTER PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Bozeman recognizes the importance of a I
Comprehensive/Master Plan to guide the future development of the City of Bozeman and its
surrounding four and one-half (4~) mile planning area as it relates to land use decisions;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Bozeman finds that the Bozeman Area
Master Plan is consistent and was developed and adopted in accordance with the desires
and needs of City and County residents as expressed through citizen advisory groups, special
surveys, and public hearings; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Bozeman finds that the Bozeman Area Master
Plan is a basic component in an effort to promote rational and orderly land development which
carefully balances the impacts upon human, environmental, and economic sectors; and,
WHEREAS, subdivision development, uncoordinated and unresponsive to the intent and pol-
icies of the Bozeman Area Master Plan, seriously undermines the efforts of the local Planning
Board and citizen advisory groups to develop effective measures to provide needed direction
for continued planning and implementation which, among other items, will further promote
efficiency and economy in the process of development, a systematic distribution of population
throughout the total City-County planning area, wise and efficient expenditure of public funds,
and adequate and timely provision of public utilities and other public requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN:
THAT pursuant to the authority vested in the City of Bozeman by Section 76-1-606, Montana

Codes Annotated, 1978 that from and after the 12 day of September, 1979, it is hereby declared
that all subdivisions within the Bozeman City-County planning area shall conform to the pro-
visions of the Bozeman Area Master Plan as provided for in Section 76-1-606, MQntana Codes Anno-
tated,-:1978.
Section 1
This ordinance shall be and the same is hereby declared to be effective thirty days
after its passage and adoption by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman.-
Passed and adopted by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, this 15th
day of August, 1979.
