Use Permits for any homes that are R-1 Single Family Residence. This concept is
COMPLETELY different than a bed and breakfast and I have no desire to share homes in my
neighborhood with strangers.
Long term rentals in my neighborhood have allowed some great families to become part of our
neighborhoods. Allowing multiple families and strangers to come into our neighborhoods week
after week after week does not make a neighborhood, but rather a hotel in the midst of our
families and our sense of security in knowing who my 3 children will come into contact on a
regular basis.
The fact that several homes in our neighborhood are currently renting out as CUP's without
permission is even more disturbing.
I plead with the City Commission to take this seriously and reject the application and impose
fines and the immediate termination of any Property owners who are engaging in this illegal
activity.
I have spent a lot of money to live in a neighborhood that I consider to be safe and am
surrounded by families, not in a hotel district with strangers coming and going on a daily basis.
This home at 304 Cleveland has been sitting empty for as long as I have lived on this street, since
2000.
