I have a couple of questions- your response and/or referral is most welcomed-
1. What if anything is being done to consider “Resort Tax” or other sales tax(s) to help lessen the
property tax burden in the city? A minority of property owners are actually wage earners- our family
being one- the majority are investors, retirees, second home-owners, etc. who in many cases just pass
levy increases on in the form of increased rents. HELP!!
2. Apparently there is now a proposal to go back on an agreed upon change to the R-5 proposal in the
area south of W. Lamme bounded by N. 11th and approx.. N. 8th. I want to strongly protest the change to
R-5. It feels like developers want to push ever increasing heights into modest residential
neighborhoods- it seems that might work for a downtown area, but our neighborhoods are where kids
play, etc.- and are not suited for mega-builds like 5 West, etc.
