SUBJECT: Right of Way Acquisition Project - Amendment No. 1
MEETING DATE: May 16th, 2016

RECOMMENDATION: Approve and authorize City Manager to sign Amendment No 1 to the
Professional Services Agreement.
BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the partially executed Amendment No. 1 with Dowl
LLC for the Right of Way Acquisition Project.
This amendment is to complete design and construction engineering services for the completion
of the east half of North 27th Avenue between Oak Street and Tschache Lane. Completion of this minor arterial is included in the current Capital Improvement Plan. Dowl previously completed the design for this section of roadway for a private landowner, but the construction
was never completed. Since we currently have Dowl under contract for right of way acquisition
services we decided to amend their current contract to add this scope of work. Some revisions to
their plans need to be completed to bring them to current standards, and the contracts need to be updated to public contract standars. Construction inspections and administration is also included in this amendment. Engineering staff has reviewed the amendment and found it to be
commensurate with the work involved.

ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission
FISCAL EFFECTS: The proposed fee for this scope of work is $43,699.00.
