ORDINANCE NO. 956
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, ADOPTING THE UNIFORM PLUMBING
CODE, 1973 EDITION AND 1974 AMENDMENTS, AMENDING SECTIONS 20, 15, THE REST
RELATING TO BOND REQUIREMENTS AND SECTION 20, 16, THEREOF, RELATING TO SEWER
AND WATER LINE CONNECTIONS AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 885 OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, AS FOLLOWS, TO WIT:
Section 1
A certain document, three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the Building
Inspector of the City of Bozeman, Montana, being marked and designated as "Uniform Plumbing Code,
1973 Edition including 1974 Amendments published by the International Association of Plumbing
and Mechanical Officials," is hereby adopted as the Plumbing Code of the City of Bozeman for the
regulation of plumbing and drainage systems in the City of Bozeman; providing for issuance of
permits and collection of fees therefore; providing penalties for violation of such code; and
each and all of the regulations. provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of the "Uniform
Plumbing Code, 1973 Editions including 1974 Amendments published by the International Association
of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials," on file in the office of the Building Official are hereby
referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this chapter; save and except
such portions thereof as have been deleted, modified or amended in the aforementioned official
copies.
Section 2
The following paragraphs shall be added to the Uniform Plumbing Code.
Add Section 20.15 to the 1974 Amendments to the Uniform Plumbing Code as follows:
20.15 BOND: Every Master Plumber doing plumbing work in the City of Bozeman
shall file with the City, a bond in the sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00)
conditioned that he will in good faith perform all things required of him by
the laws of the City. Said bond shall be filed in the office of the Building
Official for approval.
Add Section 20.16 to the 1974 Amendments to the Uniform Code as follows :
20.16 Connections to Sewer and Water Mains: The City of Bozeman shall make
all service connections (doing all necessary work and furnishing necessary
materials) from the sewer and water mains to the property line; charges for
such work shall be paid by the property owner or his agent and accompany the
application for service connection. The charges for such connections shall be
fixed by the City Commission from time to time.
Water services, from property line to and including the water meter, shall be installed
by the City Water Department upon proper application by the owner or his agent and receipt
of a deposit based upon the estimated cost; provided, that any excess over the actual cost shall
be refunded to the applicant upon the completion of the work.
Section 3
That Ordinance No. 885 of the City of Bozeman be and the same hereby is repealed.
Section 4
This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after it's passage and approval.
