ORDINANCE NO. 863
AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES AND REPEALING ORDINANCE
NUMBER 794 OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES
OF SAID CITY IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN:
SECTION 1
For the purpose of controlling and regulating the erection of buildings and other structures
within the corporate limits of the City of Bozeman and promoting and protecting the safety of
persons and property within said City from the hazard of fire, the entire City of Bozeman within
its corporate limits is hereby created and established as a fire district divided into three zones
to be known and designated as Fire Zone No.1, Fire Zone No.2, and Fire Zone No.3, which are
likewise hereby created and established, bounded, and described as follows, to-wit:
The boundaries of Fire Zone No.1 under this Ordinanc~ are as follows:
Those areas designated and set aside as "CB," Central Business and ''MB'' Motor Business Zones
as described in Chapter 17.08 of the Bozeman Municipal Code.
The boundaries of Fire Zone No.2 under this Ordinance are as follows:
All land lying outside the exterior boundary of Fire Zone No. 1 and within a dis tance
of 300 feet of said exterior boundary of Fire Zone No.1.
The boundaries of Fire Zone No.3 under this Ordinance are as follows:
All of the land within the City Limits of the City of Bozeman which is not included
within the boundaries of Fire Zones Nos. 1 and 2.
SECTION 2
The regulation and control over the erection of buildings and other structures within said
Fire Zone Limits No's. 1, 2, and 3 is fixed and established by Chapter 14.08 of the Bozeman
Municipal Code, known as the "Building Code" reference to which is hereby made.
Exception: Buildings of Group I or J occupancies need not comply with the above.
SECTION 3
Ordinance No. 794 and all ordinances and parts of ordinances of the City of Bozeman in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed, but this shall not have the effect of reviving any ordinance repealed
by said Ordinance No. 794.
SECTION 4
This Ordinance shall be in full force and affect from and after thirty (30) days from its final
adoption.
Finally adopted and approved at a regular session of the City Commission of the City of Bozeman
held on the 31st day of August, 1966

I, Erna V. Harding, Clerk of the Commission of the City of Bozeman do
hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 863 was published by title
and number in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, a newspaper of general circul-
ation printed and published in said City in the issue of the 6th day of
September 1966, and due proof of such publication is on file in my office.
