HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-11-16, Garcia, Midtown RezoningTo the Bozeman City Commission, I understand that you are voting on the rezoning of the North 7th Midtown area tomorrow. My husband and I have written and attended the public hearing, but it seems that you have not heard our side loud enough. We, and our neighbors on Lamme Street, are all for rezoning North 7th Avenue, which is already a commercial landscape. But we do not believe that you should rezone our residentail street, Lamme Street between 7th & 5th, which is full of families and residential housing. We bought our house on Lamme Street 15 years ago, and love this location because of the close proximity to Whittier School, downtown, and other residential homes with kids. Our kids play together, walk to school together. We are an established neighborhood with single family homes. Can you imagine if someone built an apartment building next to the home you have spent thousands of dollars fixing up, the home you planned to live in for the rest of your lives? I can't. I never would have bought this home if I thought it would one day be rezoned on a whim. We are pleading with you to please leave us out of the rezone line. Make it apply to North 7th, that's fine, but please don't ruin our awesome neighborhood. I have always been a proponent of Bozeman's growth when it makes sense, but this doesn't make sense to us at all. Please leave our neighborhood alone. Thanks for considering, Corinne, Eddie, Owen & Eli Garcia
