AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PARAGRAPH U(c)" OF SUB...DIVISION "B" OF SECTION 1, AND
SECTION 8, OF ORDINANCE NO.- 63' OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, _ENTITLED: "AN OR-
DINANCE REQUIRING THOSE ENGAGED IN CERTAIN OCCUPATIONS, INDUSTRIES, TRADES,
PURSUITS AND PROFESSIONS IN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN TO PAY A LICENSE IN AID OF
THE POLICE REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, PROVIDING FOR THE GRANTING,
REFUSAL, SUSPENSION AND REVOCATION OF SUCH LICENSES, PROVIDING PENALTIES
FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NUMBERED 494, 508,
529, 535, 554 AND 581 OF SAID CITY OF BOZEMAN AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES A1~
PARTS OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN IN CONFLICT HEREWITH", SO AS TO
REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF THE LICENSE FEE TO BE PAID BY GASOLINE FILLING STATIONS
AND TO 1ffiKE DISCOlrnT OF LICENSE FEES AVAILABLE ONLY IF PAID ON OR BEFORE THE
15th DAY OF MARCH OF THE YEAR IN WHICH THEY ARE PAYABLE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN:

Section 1. That paragraph (c) of Subdivision B of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 637
of The C1 ty of Boz em.an enti tled as set forth 'lbove in the title of this ordinance, and
commonly known as the General License Ordinance, be, and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
(c) Selling p,asoline and/or ~Jel oils and the like, at so called filling
stations, either alone or in addition to other merchandise, goods,
products or services. Basic license $10.00 for each establishment,
plus $1.25 for each person employed, plus $3.50 for each delivery truck
or service truck.
Section 2. That the foregoing amendment, Section 1, shall be retro,active to
January 1, 1944.
Section 3. That Section e of said Ordinance No. 637 of The City of Bozeman entitled
as set forth above in the title to this ordinance, and co~monly known as the General Li-
cense Ordinance, be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 8.
Fees Payable in Advance.
Part Year Fees.

All licenses issued under this Ordinance shall be for the calendar year in I
which they are issued and sml1 expire December 31st of such year. All fees
shall be paid yearly in advance. All fees are due and payable January let of
each year. A discount of 10% of the amount of the total fee will be allowed
on all fees paid on or before March 15th of each ye~r. Except as hereinbefore
provided no discounts shall be allowed from the fees hereinbefore prescribed
and specified; provided, thgt the fee for any license for any business, 00-
Cllpa tion, pllrsui t or profession for which a license is required by the pro-
visions of this ordinance, where the licensee or applicant therefor shall first
eny;age in such business, occupation, pursuit or profe3f~i()n f'or the first time
in The Ci t;T of Bozeman after June 30th of any year andnot before in such year,
shall be (unless otherwise herein provided) one-half of the fee for a full year
as in this Ordinance prescribed and such license shall expire on the next sue...
ceeding December 31st. Any license issued for a specified date, time or place
shall not be a license for any other or different d8te, time or place. If any
licensee, hBving paid the license required for a full year, she 11 cea se to
operate thereunder at any time prior to June 30th of the year for which the
license was issued (except in the case of a license for a particular and spe'"
cified date or dates, time or times, place or places) such licensee shall be
entitled to a refund of one-half (50~) of the amount paid, upon application
therefor within thirty (30) days from the time such operation ceased; provided,
tha t before allowin[l any such refund the Director of Finance may re....uire proof,
by affidavit or otherwise, to his satisfaction, that such applicant for refund
ceased to do business at the time as specified in the application for refund;
provided, further, th8t no discount shall be allowed on any license fee for a
period of less than a full year, nor on any license fee for a specified time
or times, place orp1aces, date or dates, less than a full year.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in force and effect thirty daysafter its adoption.
