ORDINANCE NO. 684 ~'~"(>""~~'j~~hN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISrnNG FIRE ZONES AND REPEALING ORDINANCE 1-/1'/O-:~'oi' NUMBER 662 OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN AND ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES ... 'j'/ OF SAID CITY IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. ../ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CI'l'Y OF BOZEMAN: Section 1 For the purnose of controlling and regulating the' erection of buildings and other structures within the corporate limits of The City of Bozeman and promoting and pro- tecting the ssfety of persons and property within said City from the hazard of fire, the entire City of Bozeman within its corporate limits is hereby created and establislled as a fire district divided into three zones to be known and desiGnated as Fire Zone No.1, Fire Zone No. 2 and Fire Zone No. 3 which are likewise hereby created and es- tablished and bounded and described as follows, towit: The Boundaries of Fire Zone~ No. 1 under this Ordinance are as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the center lines of Third Avenue, north, and West Mendenhall Street; thence east along the center line of said West Mendenhall Street and the center line of East Mendenhall Street to its intersection with the center line of Wallace Avenue, north; thence south along the center line of Wallace Avenue (North & South) to its in- tersection. wi th the c,enter line of East Babcocl{ Street; thence west along the sa:i.d center line of East Babcock Street and West Babcock Street to its intersection with the center line of Third Avenue, south; thence north along the center line of Third Avenue (North & South) to the place of beginning. The boundaries of Fire Zone No. 2 under this Ordinance are as follows: (a) Beginnin~ at the intersection of the West City Limits with the center line of the First Alley North of Main Street; thence east along the center line of said First Alley North to its intersection wltll the center line of Third Avenue, north; thence south along the said center line of Third Avenue (North & South) to tIle center line of West Babcock Street; thence east along the center line of Babcock Street to its intersection with the center line of Church Avenue, south; thence south along the center line of said Chrucrl Avenue, south, to its intersection wi th the center line of East Olive Street;thence west along the center line of said East Olive Street to its intersection with the center line of Bl.ack1:Avenue, south; thence south along the center line of said Black Avenue, south, to a point 100 feet south of the south line of said East Olive Street; thence west parallel with and 100 feet south of said south line of Olive Street to tIle center line of Willson Avenue, south; thence north along the center line of said Willson Avenue, south, to the center line of West Olive Street; thence west along the center line of said West Olive Street to the center line of Fourth Avenue, south; thence nortfl alnng the center line of said Fourth Avenue, south, to the center line of West Babcock Street; thence west along the center line of said West Babcock Street to the center line of Fifth Avenue, south; thence north along the center line of said Fifth Avenue, south, to the center line of the First Alley South of Main Street; thence ,~ west along the center line of said First Alley South to the City Limits; thence north along suid City Limits to the point of beglnning. (b) Beginning at the intersection of the center line ,of East Lanmle Street with the center line of Wallace Avenue, north; thence south along said center line of Wallace Avenue, north, to the center line of East Mendenhall Street; thence west alonr, the center line of said Mendenhall Street to the center line of Third Avenue, north; thence north along the center line of said Third Avenue, north., to the center line of the Second Alley North of Main Street; thence east along the center line of said Second Alley North of Main Street to a point 56 feet west of the west line of Wallace Avenue, nortl1; thence north parallel with and 56 feet west of said west line of Wallace Avenue, north, to the cneter lIne of East Lamme Street; thence east along the center line of said East Lamme Street to the place of beginning. The boundaries of Fire Zone No. 3 under tJ'ds Ordinance are as follows: All of the land within the City Limits of Bozeman which is not included within the foregoing descriptions. Section 2 'rhe regulation and control over the erection of buildings and other structures within said Fire Zone Limits Nos. 1, 2 and 3 is fixed and established by Ordinance No. 685 of The City of Boz81nnn, known as the llBuilding Code", reference to which is hereby made. I 1 I I I I 135 Section :3 Ordinance No. 662 and all ordinances and parts of ordinances of The City of Bozeman in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, but this shall not have the effect of reviving any oroinance repealed by said Ordinance No. 662. Section 4 This Ordinance shall be in fullfurce and effect from and after thirty (50) days from its final adoption. Finally adopted and approved at a regular session of the Commission of The City of Bozeman held on the 30th day of September, 1938.
