Message: This morning's paper features a house torn down. Against policy. And without permission. The
perpetrator was fined 300 dollars such a small fine is an outrage. It encourages anyone to ignore the law
in this regard, eg buildings downtown or in the Wilson historic district. Simultaneously, it encourages
flaunting other public policy. While your precedent is probably already set in stone I did and do suggest
large fines and, because these may not threaten some, at least a few mandatory ceremonial days jail
