Commission Memorandum
REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission
FROM: Wendy Thomas, Director of Community Development Craig Woolard, Director of Public Works
SUBJECT: Professional Service Term Contract for Development Review Services with
Allied Engineering. MEETING DATE: February 29, 2016
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the City Manager’s signature on the attached Professional Service
Term Contract Extensions for Development Review Services.
BACKGROUND: In March 2014, the City of Bozeman published a Request for Proposals (RFP) for
development review services. These services included review of site plans, subdivisions, and other
various private development applications received by the Department of Community Development.
On April 21, 2014, the City Commission approved contracts with four engineering firms to provide services to the City for development review. The contracts were extended by the City Commission on
March 23, 2015. Community Development and Public Works have experienced a high volume of
application submittal already this year and would like to continue to use outside services for
development review assistance, as needed.
Each contract will be acted upon independently by the City Commission, but the development review
service is being provided by the following firms: Allied Engineering, TD&H Engineering, Sanderson
Stewart, and KLJ.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The contract extension continues the billable rates agreed upon in the 2014
contract. The funds for these contracts will come from the Department of Community Development
and Department of Public Works Engineering contracted services budgets. Funds for this purpose were approved by the City Commission for FY 16.
