Message: The YMCA is proposing to build a facility outside of Bozeman limits, on Baxter and
Love Lane. Originally the plan was to build within city limits, near a denser community.
Presumably the reason for the change is higher infrastructure costs. So now, it's being built
outside of town, which will result in more traffic in the area. Isn't the idea of smart growth to
infill rather than sprawl all over the county? Shouldn't a facility like the YMCA be accessible
to pedestrians and cyclists, and be IN a community? Is the city considering the above, when
imposing infrastructure costs?
