A previous Transportaon Plan was completed in 2007 which provides a blueprint for guiding transportaon infrastructure investments based on system needs and associated decision making principles. Rapid growth, changes in land use, substanal upgrades to the community's transportaon system, and the community's increasing interest in transportaon related maers have necessitated a new examinaon of transportaon issues within the Bozeman area. Project Goals The TMP is intended to facilitate community goals and improve the transportaon infrastructure and services within the Bozeman area to meet the needs of exisng and future land use. The TMP will address all modes of transportaon in a balanced aempt to meet current and future needs while complying with State and Federal requirements. Specifically, the TMP will achieve the following overall objecves: Coordinate transportaon planning with exisng and future land use and other community plans. Improve regional transportaon circulaon and idenfy primary travel demands. Promote a safe, reliable and efficient transportaon network for vehicles, bicycles, pedestrians, and the disabled. Idenfy improvement priories, implementaon strategies, and policies to maintain and enhance the funconality of the transportaon system. The development of this TMP includes an extensive public involvement process. This process has been designed to encourage public involvement and meaningful parcipaon. The public is invited to parcipate in the TMP development process through public meengs and ongoing study informaon review and input. The first public meeng is scheduled for December 1, 2015. Two addional public meengs will be held at later dates during the TMP development. Dates, mes, and locaons for all public outreach acvies will be announced prior to the events through local media, the project website, and the study mailing list. The project team will collect and consider all comments received to beer understand the potenal issues and concerns. Those with a specific interest in the study are encouraged to join the study mailing list. Refer to the contact list for more informaon. Study Area The study area for the Bozeman TMP includes the enre city limits of Bozeman, and those unincorporated areas directly outside the city limits likely to realize increased housing and employment over the planning horizon (year 2040). The planning process began in August, 2015 and strives for a final Plan to be completed by September 30, 2016.
