Meeting Minutes, Wed, May 7, 2014
6-8 pm, Commissioner’s Room, City Hall

A. Called meeting to Order
B. Public Comment: Tom Keck(Collins Coalition): Collin's Coalition recent fundraiser was successful. Money raised will
be used to fill in gaps on North 19th bike path. There was also a donation of reflective safety equipment to be given away
on a continuing basis. Please let Tom know if anyone would like to give out equipment.
C. April meeting minutes were approved.
D. CTEP projects and funds – status of N. 19th gaps: John Vandelinder
On May 19th, Dustin Johnson(Project Engineer) and Craig Woolard(Director of Public Works) will be presenting to the city
commission recommendations regarding the completion of the ten foot shared-use pathway on N. 19th, Safe Routes to
Schools curbing, way-finding signage and the replacement of deficient accessible curbs and striped crosswalks in that
order of priority.
E Action item: voted on 2014 bike week budget
BABAB has requested $1200 from city, $750 from GVBC. Projected income: $2280 from stickers & t-shirts sales. We still
need $765.
Bill approved motion to accept proposed budget. Sam seconded. The board approved.
$150 is still needed for food for party. Jen will ask Heebs.
F. Bike Safety Outreach/Education
• Film update: None
• High School Drivers Education: Jen has been continuing to conduct classes the last few months and there will be
one more class next month before a summer break.
• Bike safety –Education at MSU-Petra: bike week went well, working on League of American Bicyclist application
for bike friendly campus status.
• Bike safety PSA update- Sam: Right now bike week PSA's are airing on KGLT and Sam will resume work with the
bike safety PSA's after bike week.
G. Bike to Work Week Planning May 12-16, 2014
Board discussed volunteer roles at stops and how to transport tents & bins for each day.
H. Old business
• Mendenhall bike lanes: No updates.
• Bozeman Bicycle Code modification update: No updates
• FTA state of good repair funds: The fairgrounds is interested in putting in covered bike parking. This project
should qualify for grant funds. Rebecca is still waiting on approval for using funds for Belgrade bus shelter
bike lockers and racks.
