Incident Narrative: Bozeman Firefighters responded to a mutual aid call from Gallatin Gateway
Fire to assist with a wildland fire that was out of control on High Flat Road.
Upon arrival Bozeman firefighters assisted Gallatin Gateway Fire with the
mop up stage of the fire. Approximately 100 acres were burned in this fire.

Incident Narrative: We were called to a reported fire in an apartment. On arrival of Engine 2, the
fire had been extinguished by a resident in an adjoining apartment. The fire
was caused by a hair dryer that was left plugged in. Dan Shyne, from the Fire
Cause Investigation Team, investigated the scene and determined the cause to
be in the hair dryer. The fire was confined to the corner of the bathroom and
smoke spread throughout the apartment.

Patient was stranded on the 3rd floor of First Bank because the elevator brook down during bank hours. The
bank called for the repair man but they were told he was possible out of town. After waiting some time they
called the fire dept for assistance. Upon arrival we attempted to reset the elevator but that was unsuccessful.
I determined the only way to get the patient down was, with the help ofE-2 crew, to carry her down the
stairs in her wheelchair. The patient was happy to be safely on the ground floor. E-1 cleared and E-2
returned to their district.

Patient cut his lower left leg with glass from a broken pickle jar that he was carrying to the trash. The cut
was approximately 3/4" in length. Bleeding had been severe but direct pressure stopped the bleeding.

:Nine year old boy cut his left leg on a piece of a broken pickle jar as he was carrying it to the trash. The
cut was bleeding severely but direct pressure on the wound stopped the bleeding. Firefighters took vital
signs, administered immediate care and bandaged the wound. The patient's parents took the child to the
hospital in their own car for treatment by a physician.
