Bozeman Firefighters responded to a report of a semi truck that had run over a car just east of the 1-90 &
N. 7th Interchange. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to open the roof of the truck to allow paramedics
access to the victim. We applied foam to the leaking gas from the truck and extricated the victim from
the vehicle.

alarm co. had called to report the activation. Dispatch asked for advice

Schneider had silenced the alarm and was in the process of resetting the
pull station. BFD assisted with the pullstation and panel reset. Resident
stated that this was the second time in one month that the alarm had been
pulled.

Incident Narrative: Bozeman firefighters responded to a possible structure fire on Perkins Place
early Sunday morning. Upon arrival firefighters found a single family home
filled with smoke. Firefighters determined that the smoke was being generated
by a malfunctioning furnace in the home's basement. The home was cleared of
smoke using ventilation equipment and the resic1ent advised to contact a
licensed service representative.

Incident Narrative: Bozeman firefighters responded Friday morning to the report of a wildland fire
located on Turner Ranches,Sixteen Mile Creek. Upon arrival firefighters
encountered a 15 acre fire which was growing rapidly due to wind and
extremely d.ry conditions. Mutual aid was requested from valley volunteer
departments as well as Department of State Lands. The suppression efforts are
still underway at the time of this report.

Road. at 5:19 pm Monday night. Firefighters encountered a wildland fire of
approximately 3/4 of a mile long and a quarter of a mile wiele. Bozeman
firefighters working with Ft Ellis and Forest Service personnel worked at
containing the fire till early Tuesday morning. Forest Service firefighters are

lightning near Maudlow early on the morning of 8/17/96. After being guided
to the fire area by ranch personnel, Firefighters and ranch personnel
extinguished the remaining fire. The fire was approximately 4-5 acres in size
and was located northeast of Maudlow on the Dick Morgan ranch.

Incident Narrative: Bozeman Firefughters responded to a Natural Gas leak at the Bozeman Care
Center. Upon arrival Firefighters observered that the evacuation of the
occupants was being addressed by Care Center personel. Firefughters were
directed to the rear of the building where the gas smell originated. Firefighters
shut off the gas at the meter and investigated for leaks. Firefighters and Mt.
Power personell determined that the Natural gas powered Emergency
Generator may have been the cause of the gas smell. At this time the
atmosphere in the building was found to be safe and the occupants were placed
back in the building.

Incident Narrative: Gallatin County Hazardous Response Team was notified of a semi-truck and
trailer that was involved in an accident near House Rock on Interstate 191.
Upon arrival it was determined that the only leak involved was out of the filler
cap. The transfer valve was turned off and the truck was towed out of the
ditch. The spill was estimated to be four gallons at a maximum.

found a 34 year old man that apparently had suffered a seizure. He passed out, and hit his head as he fell.
Firefighters took vitals, applied oxygen, maintained C-spine immobilization, and helped MedTrans
personnel package and load the patient for transport to the hospital.

Incident'N arrative: The electrical cord for a jeweler's buffing wheel shorted out at the junction of
the wire and the plug. The cause of the eb;ctrical short was a defective wire or
mechanical damage. The electrical wall socket was undamaged by the small
fire. A sign laying next to the plug was damaged by the small fire. The fire
was inunediately extinguished by the store manager with a portable
extinguisher. We investigated the cause of the incident and suggested the
machine be repaired by an electrician.

Incident Narrative: Bozeman firefighters responded to a 1/4 acre fire in the Kelly Canyon drainage
early Tuesday evening. Fort Ellis Fire was first on the scene and began
suppression efforts aided by 12 Kelly Canyon residents. Bozeman Fire and
Bridger Canyon Fire provided more fire units working together to quickly
contain the fire. Fire personnel from Ft. Ellis were stationed to monitor the
fire all night watching for hotspots.
