SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT
This Supplemental Agreement is made July ~, 2005, by and between the City of
Bozeman, Bozeman Montana, a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as the
"Employer" and the IAFF Local 613 ~ Bozeman Firefighters, hereinafter referred to as
"Union".
It is the purpose of this Supplemental Agreement to increase the hours worked per
week from 48 to 53 and to establish a new pay matrix to compensate firefighters for
working those extra hours. Additionally, the FLSA work period changes from a 144 hour
21~day work cycle to a 204 hour 27~day work cycle.
The Parties hereby agree to revise the Salary Schedule found in paragraph A of
Addendum A as follows:

B. Effective on JUly 1, 2005:
1. Article 9: Overtime and Compensatory Time will be changed to read as
follows:

ARTICLE 9: OVERTIME AND COMPENSATORY TIME
The City will grant non-exempt fire division personnel compensatory time to a
maximum of 225 hours at the end of any pay period, or pay overtime at the rate
of 1% hour for each hour when qualifying work hours exceeds 204 hours per 27.
day work period. Employees shall be permitted to use compensatory time within
a reasonable period after making the request if such use does not unduly disrupt
the operation of the division. Management will not be obligated to consider a
request unless it is submitted seven days prior to the day off being requested.
2. Article 15: Sick Leave will be changed to read as follows:
ARTICLE 15: SICK LEAVE AND PERSONAL HOURS
Sick leave shall be accrued and expended according to State Law. Sick leave
may be converted to supplemental retirement or deferred compensation in
accordance with Addendum "B".
Sick Leave Coupon: No later than July 15th of each year, the City will provide
each combat firefighter who works a 24-hour shift one (1) "Full Shift Sick Leave
Coupon" and one (1) "12 hour Sick Leave Coupon". The Full Shift Coupon is
valued at one, 20-hour shift and is to be used for sick leave--related purposes
only. The 12 Hour Coupon is valued for 12 hours of sick leave and is to be used
for sick leave--related purposes only. Sick Leave Coupons may be accumulated
from year to year, and may be transferred to other combat firefighters who work a
24-hour shift. These Sick Leave Coupons hold no payout value at separation
from employment.
Personal Hours Coupon: No later than July 15th of each year, the City will
provide each combat firefighter who works a 24-hour shift one (1) "Personal
Hours Coupon". The amount of hours each firefighter receives is determined by
the number of years they have worked for the City and is given in consideration
of the additional vacation time an employee YJOrking a 53 hour week must use to
take off a like period compared to their previous 48 hour YJOrk week:

Personal Hours Coupons may be accumulated for up to two (2) years from their
date of issue and must be used In the Increments Issued. These coupons hold
no payout value at separation from employment.
Bereavement leave shall be granted as per present City policy.
