HomeMy WebLinkAbout15- Addendum No 1 Landfill Gas Well DrillingAddendum No. 1 Request for Proposals Landfill Gas Well Drilling Bozeman Landfill This Addendum No. 1 is issued on September 25, 2015, to the RFP for Landfill Gas Well Drilling dated September 10, 2015. Completed proposals must acknowledge receipt of this addendum in the RFP narrative. The following are questions or comments received from interested parties regarding the RFP. Responses to each question or comment follow each question or comment. Q: The well detail calls out 38” minus washed gravel.” I’m assuming this was meant to state 3/8”. Is there a specification for this material and/or information on where it may be available locally so we can call and get a price quote? Response: Yes, the callout should be for 3/8” minus washed gravel. There is no specification for this material other than it must be no larger than 3/8” and it must be washed. There are a number of suppliers in the Bozeman area including Knife River, Bozeman Sand and Gravel and Portable Inc. that should have this product readily available. Q: Is there a contour drawing available for the proposed work area? Response: Yes, see the attached figure that shows contours on the landfill near the proposed LFG wells. Q: Is there dirt available onsite for building benches & backfilling wells, etc.? Response: In general there is not a surplus stockpile of dirt available onsite. However, drilling through the cap (the cap consists of 2 to 4 feet of dirt) will generate cuttings which may be used for backfilling. Q: What’s the reasoning behind the CPVC has this site had heat/fire issues in the past? Response: The site has not had heat or fire issues in the past. The CPVC was selected in case there are heat issues in the future. Q: Can 8 mesh bentonite be used instead of grout? Response: No. The 8-foot long plug near the surface must consist of cement grout with 20% bentonite powder as called for on Figure 2 in the Request for Proposals. Q: Can benches be built on the sideslopes then removed afterwards? Response: Yes, benches can be built on the sideslopes and removed afterwards. The City would like to minimize any disturbance (including benches but also any other disturbance to the surface of landfill). Proposals should describe in detail any disturbance that the Contractor will create in the process of drilling LFG wells. The description should describe the location, material, size and amount of fill that pads will be made from and the dimensions and locations of any other disturbance to the cap (such as access roads to the pad) that the Contractor will need to install the LFG wells. As noted in the RFP, the amount of disturbance that the Contractor plans will be a factor in the selection of the Contractor. Q:Please provide a copy of the General Conditions of the contract that the successful bidder will be asked to sign should we win the project so that we may review these before submitting our bid. Response: See the attached General and Supplemental Conditions. !.!. !.!.!.!. !. !. !.!.STORY MILL ROADSW GW-7A MW-7B BLG-6 GW-13AGW-12A GW-10A MW-6B MW-16 MW-7A,B GW-26GW-25GW-24GW-23 GW-22GW-214815 4820 4750 480048054795481048254790 4755 4785 4760 4775 47804770 4765 4830 4 83 5 48404745 4 8 4 5 47404735 4 8 5 0 4 73 0 4 8 5 5 4725 4 8 6 0 4 7 2 0 4865487048754880488548904 7 1 5 489547104900 4 7 0 5 4710 482047054830 4815471048954900 48004840 48254755 4715 4760 48904715 48104 8 10 4795 4750 474547354725 4 710 4 7 8 0 4780 4720 4835 4 845 47 1 5 4805 47 15Imagery ©2015 , DigitalGlobe, USDA Farm Service Agency Datum: NAD83 StatePlane Montana 0 100 200 FeetO:\A-G\Bozeman City of\114-560487 - Boz LF CMA Inplementation\120-GIS\GIS\ArcMap\Proposed LFG Well Locations11x17.mxdBOZEMAN CITY OF BOZEMAN LANDFILL STORY MILL ROADM cIL H A T T A N R O A D !.Proposed Landfill Gas Extraction Well City of Bozeman Landfill Property Figure 1Proposed LFG Well LocationsCity of Bozeman LandfillBozeman, Montana ²
