HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-16-15, Burnett, Street Concerns Public CommentToday, I saw the article in the Chronicle about the Realtors' forum, etc. These are
some of my thoughts:
- Please don't spend the money to redo the intersection of 19th and main. It's fine the
way it is. Also, I don't think a roundabout is practical there. We get a lot of tourists
from rural areas who are not used to such a thing, and I think it would be a mass of
confusion, and that there would be many accidents. (I myself have a hard time
negotiating those roundabouts on Shiloh Rd. in Billings.)
If you want to spend money on streets, I think it is more important to take care of
more pressing needs: like resurfacing Olive from Willson to 8th; completing North
15th going north from Oak (to enable people to go to Lowe's and other stores without
having to go around through the stoplights on 19th and all that traffic); the road going
south from Target, Staples, etc. to the post office; etc. etc. We do not need any
changes at 19th and Main!!!
- I live in south Bozeman and we do NOT need any more bike trails or lanes.
- We don't need a "Boulder style green belt." We have lots of green spaces.
- Hardly anybody uses the public transportation--why would you want to add more
buses or spend any more money on this?
- And just as a small aside, I wish the utility boxes with all the artwork would be
plainer, or just left the way they were. The new artwork is too "busy," and it's hard to
make out what it is as you drive by.
Thanks,
Mrs. Burnett
